Dream Stops - The Drive Home

This is a DREAM park!! It is located just outside of Nauvoo, IL. It has great classic toys that aren't in the "new-age" parks of today...why is that?

We did have a little problem on the drive after all the fun we had spinning...but the memories were worth it!

Ned and I even got in a little slide racing competition...can't remember who won...must've been me. :-)

I love rest stops like these!

The kids loved building a stepping stone bridge so they could get across to the big rock.

Nauvoo Part II

July 2009 (work in progress)

Meeting with the junior missionaries after their entertaining musical play.

The Nauvoo Pagaent was incredible!! Being able to see the Nauvoo Temple lit up in the background was definately a sight to behold!

At the Nauvoo Pagaent we met one of Ned's very distant relatives (both are desendants of Abraham Hunsaker). She had just purchased a piece of the land that Abraham owned in Nauvoo (a long time ago). She let us come out and see the property. Ths is a view from the front. It looks out over the Mississippi River.

Nauvoo Part I - Family Fun Center

July 2009 (work in progress)

We learned how the pioneers did many things...one of which was making barrels.

This family fun center was like Disneyland! We all could've stayed there a couple of more hours!

I would've loved to have been a pioneer....well...if they had flushing toilets...oh - and running water....washing machines..heaters..pandora.com.... Okay, maybe I would've made a great pioneer...but it was sure fun pretending!

Brock was totally consumed by these blocks and the wood chips on the ground the entire time!

Stick Pull Fun

TJ sweeping without being asked! Wooohoo!!

A super fun pioneer game...so much fun that we are making it for our family for Christmas.

Brock - somewhat disappointed that he didn't find any treasures(food) in the kitchen.

The look on his face is priceless!
