I've Been Tagged

I've been tagged. I am posting 7 crazy things about myself - BRACE YOURSELF and read at your own risk. I, the writer, am not responsible for any locked jaws dropped in disbelief!

1. If I had no other responsibilities in life, I would LOVE to exercise ALL day long!!!! (Hiking, rollerblading, basketball, volleyball, tennis, weightlifting, cycling, yoga, water aerobics, playing tag, obstacle courses, british bulldogs, oh - basically everything!! It would be childhood all over again!

2. In Second Grade I made it to the finals of the city spelling bee and missed the word CHAIR! I couldn't believe it!!! I will never have a brain freeze when confronted with that word again.

3. One of my fondest memories with my dad is making stilts out of wood. My sibling and I then completed crazy obstacle courses while on our stilts. One time I walked over 1000 continuous steps on my stilts!

4. As a child and teen (don't tell anyone), each night I would have to cover each one of my dolls and stuffed animals before I went to bed or else I just couldn't put my mind at ease and sleep.

5. I made it on the stage of the Price is Right and PRETENDED to kiss Bob Barker. Yes - I couldn't get myself to actually do it (but it looks real on TV). His makeup was an inch thick - yuck!

6. I have a great desire to teach my kids what my parents taught me - HARD WORK and RESPONSIBILITY (especially when it comes to money).

7. Last but definately not least, I hope to have a yard full of chickens someday. I can't wait to reap the benefits of their labors (yum - eggs) and also have fun chasing after them in order to put them back in the coop. (GREAT TIMES!)

Oh - okay - one more.....

8. In college I was Miss Montana for a Halloween Miss America Paegant and won. Key word is HALLOWEEN!!! I think it was my fake western accent that got me the win....or maybe it was because one of the 12 judges ended up being my husband many months later. :-)

Promise - only one more....

9. When I grow up...I REALLY want to be a fighter pilot. The F-16 will do.

Reach to New Heights

I love this picture (in the header) taken of Laura many years ago. I think it depicts the the American Dream. In order to obtain the American Dream, we have to reach to new heights. The American way has inspired a countless amount of people through the ages. I hope and pray that this election will not take that dream away. I heard today that the individual who started Home Depot said that if he were to try and start that business under the rule of Obama, it wouldn't get anywhere. Obama wants to tax the heart out of the working people in American. Through this action, he will only be "uninspiring" people and as a result increase the dependence people have on the government. If you don't believe me, think it through for yourself.

When my children do something well, the last thing I want to do is punish them for their accomplishments. If I punish them when they are succeeding, do you think the successful behavior is going to continue? Definately not!!

Knowing that our loving Heavenly Father has his hand our lives bring me great comfort - no matter what the results of the election may be. However, in the meantime, we are praying hard!
